Women Practicing Yoga

Mission

Our mission is to help you find your own, unique Wave. Everyone comes to yoga for different reasons. Some people just want to get in shape, sweat it out, and be more “bendy”. Some people want to be able to devote an hour or two to themselves every week to reconnect to themselves, relax and restore. And sometimes these goals shift, or grow. The best thing about yoga is that yoga adapts to you.

Our classes are fun, down-to-earth, and approachable for all levels. Students can expect unexpected combinations of familiar poses, plenty of options for modifications, and corny jokes. We will teach you the puzzle pieces you need to approach more challenging asana, and then help you settle in for a luxurious savasana.

Robyn

Robyn tried yoga for the first time at a local YMCA, looking for a good workout. Over the next months, she was amazed at the transformation in her posture, strength, and flexibility.

In 2015, Robyn made a life changing decision and started yoga teacher training at YogaWorks in SoHo under Heather Seagraves and received her 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification.

That same year, she founded her own yoga company, Yoga in Waves, with the mission to introduce yoga and its benefits to groups of people who might be intimidated or skeptical.

Since then she has been happy to be able to introduce yoga to many people who don’t fit the mold of a stereotypical yogi, and who now enjoy the benefits of yoga in ways that they didn’t anticipate, with fun and accessible sequences that are adaptable to most body types, fitness levels, and ages. Robyn’s classes are constantly evolving to ensure her students are challenged safely, emphasizing anatomy and alignment.

In 2020, Robyn received her Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 certification from Carrie Brady and her equine assistants at Possibilities Farm

Robyn received a BA in Theatre Arts from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2006.
